The Swanville American Legion meets the 2nd Monday of the Month, April thu December at 6 pm at the Swanville Park.

The Swanville Veterans Memorial was designed and managed by Glenn Palm starting in 2005, a Korean War Veteran. Date of installation May 28th, 2007. Made up with brick pavers for the floor,

and 12 inch wall rock plus 48 inch wrought iron fencing perimeter. The background is a 48 inch by 60 inch battle field scene painted by Nancy Leaseman.  The granite slabs are 21 inches by 60 inches which have 55 names on each slab.  Each name includes years of service, branch of service and citations.  In the middle of the Memorial

In Memory of Beatrice, Gordon & Donald Yort
is a grave site scene with a 6 foot, 6 inch bronzed soldier in battle gear off to the left. On the right side is a commemorative plaque of Paul Ray Smith who received the Congressional Medal of Honor Posthumous in the Iraq War.  All labor and contributions came for local citizens.
